Aid for Ukraine

UKRAINE FLAG

You may remember Gregg Johnson, our instructor for the Color Me Confident class held at Mars Hill University in April 2022. He is putting together an aid mission to send knitting supplies to Ukraine. The economy and supply chains will not be back to normal for many years, and they are facing a cold winter.

As a former Peace Corp volunteer, Gregg has the desire to serve, and the connections to get the donations to the people who need it most. He is requesting donations of patterns, needles and notions, and yarn (including leftovers) that can be shipped to Ukraine before winter.

This will be an ongoing project for as long as the need exists. Please consider a house cleaning of your supply stash! There are two ways to get the donations to Gregg - you may contact him directly at gregg_w_johnson@yahoo.com to make arrangements, or you can drop off your donations at our knitting group locations and times. (Wednesday evenings 5-7 pm at Hoppy Trees, 7 Florida Ave., Weaverville, NC; or Friday mornings 10-12 at Ingles Cafe on Weaver Blvd., Weaverville, NC). If you choose to drop off at a knitting group, please text (828) 770-7327 to let me know you are bringing a donation.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!
