Boldness be my friend. --William Shakespeare

I am an impulsive person. I know this about me, but it only occasionally prevents me from jumping before I'm ready.

But then again, there are the times in life when you realize that you were waiting for the answers but they never came, so you sat on your butt and watched the world move on without you.

Sometimes there is no way to find out if a thing will work without giving it a go. And that's where our Game of Shawls series comes in.

I don't know if anyone will think this is as much fun as I do. It's ok if you don't. But I love games, I love literature, and I love knitting, so if I can combine those things - nirvana. And if I'm the only one on board with this - it's kind of ok.

Our Game of Shawls #1 is "Shawl's Well That Ends Well". There is no better place to begin than with Shakespeare, and because I have a caustic sense of humor, when I found the deck of playing cards based on Shakespeare's insults....well, it was a match made in heaven.

I have a plan. An evil epic plan.

There will be a pattern instruction booklet (because, as I said, this is EPIC), a deck of cards, and 3 skeins of yarn involved. It starts June 1 and may take most of your summer, or not, depending on how much time you want to put into it. Hopefully when fall comes we will be able to have a celebration in person where we can all compare our projects and marvel at the magic of fiber art (and the randomness of probabilities, if you are a math nerd).

Intrigued? Details drop May 8. Be sure you are signed up for the newsletter (sign up is on the home page of the website).
