Two of my favorite hobbies - knitting and reading - come together once again for a new Game of Shawls!
This year's edition will be released on Tuesday, May 9 in conjunction with the WNC Yarn Crawl. The literary inspiration for it will be revealed on Tuesday, April 25.
Last year Mark Twain was the inspiration, and the previous year it was Shakespeare. That's some lofty company, and I'm not sure you will agree that this year's author is in the same league, but it is someone who has been a long-time favorite of mine!
Our yarns for the project are being dyed by local dyer Sheryl Burns (aka The Fiber Faerie). She will be in the shop on Friday, May 12 during the yarn crawl - stop by and say hello!
Meanwhile, if you haven't checked out the previous projects, I wrote a blog post about the very first shawl, from the very first game. Also, there is a photo gallery on Flickr of shawls made from both of the previous years' project.
Check them out, and get ready to get your game on!
